#ROW80 Midweek Check-In

Monday (10-5): Was spent trying to figure out my optimum time of day. Decided I’d start waking up in the morning…except I totally overslept my alarm and was sluggish all morning and afternoon and only ended up getting upset at myself. Found myself putting writing off due to distractions, and in the end, I ended up just not doing it (my big problem is gonna be motivation and forcing myself to JUST DO IT, in the wise words of Shia Labeouf haha) so for Monday: 0 words…in fact, I avoided my laptop like the plague. Bad Kodi. But tomorrow’s another day, right? I’m determined to figure it out!

Tuesday (10-6): I actually woke up in time for my driving lesson, but by the time I got home and had lunch, I was once again sluggish. Came to me that if I’m not a morning person, and I’m not a night owl (anymore) then what AM I? Answer: IDK but I think it’s gonna involve caffeine first thing in the morning, because when I sat down and thought hard about my old writing schedule, when I could actually crank out thousands of words,  I would literally wait for everyone to go to bed and then write in the blessed silence between midnight and 4am, I realized I always had a jug of pepsi on hand. Hence why I wasn’t automatically exhausted by 11pm, like I am now. I cut out caffeine over a year ago after figuring out that the caffeine in any pop makes me irrational and ragey? (But not coffee, somehow?) So I’m going to invest in some iced coffee for the mornings, just enough for some zip. Spent the evening making a read through/pass through the WIP of Wolfshadow (has about 20k on it, for those who’re curious!) and tweaking it a bit and figuring out my plan of attack for tomorrow.

Wednesday (10-7): Today was spent on “Real Life” but I did get another hour of driving done and cleaned the kitchen? Finding myself making excuses to NOT write. Or rather…outline, because I need to finalize this outline before I can tackle the book the way I need to. And anyone who knows me, knows I hate outlining. LOL The day’s not over yet–I’m still determined to crank out a couple scenes and figure out what, exactly, happens in the haze of the middle of this book, since I’m going to be spending the day with a couple of close friends on Thursday.

So not a whole heck of a lot accomplished. Boo. Let’s make the second half of the week more kick-ass, shall we? 🙂

  1. Caffeine is funny. It gives me heartburn, but not every time. I like writing at night, and even though we don’t usually have soda in the house I asked hubby to get me a coke from McD’s.

Hope the second half of your week is better!

    1. Thank you! Hopefully our caffeine induced brains will come up with something awesome. As a plus side, I did crank out 2500 words of outline in the past hour, so at least I was somewhat productive hah!
